Active Participation of Every Citizen Essential for Census Campaign: DC Sachin Gupta

Indiknow, Rohtak. Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta called upon all residents to actively participate in the ongoing Census campaign, emphasizing that it is a crucial national exercise and a shared responsibility of every citizen. He was addressing a meeting of administrative officers after a video conference conducted by Director, Census Haryana, Dr. Lalit Jain.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that a Self-Enumeration campaign will be conducted in the district from April 16 to April 30, during which citizens can digitally submit their details on the official portal https://se.census.gov.in. He further announced that April 16 will be observed as “Self-Enumeration Day”, where all officers and officials will lead by example by completing their own self-enumeration and encouraging others to participate.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed that accurate and updated data collected through the Census forms the foundation of national planning and development, making citizen participation essential. He urged elected representatives, officials, and prominent citizens to promote the campaign through social media by sharing their self-enumeration experience, thereby motivating wider public participation. Explaining the process, he said citizens can easily register on the portal by entering basic details such as household information, mobile number and optional email ID, followed by OTP verification, location details, and marking their residence on the digital map.

After completing the House Listing and Housing Census questionnaire, users must submit and lock their data. An 11-digit unique SE ID (starting with ‘H’) will be generated and shared via SMS/email, which should be provided to the enumerator during verification. He reiterated that once data is locked, no changes can be made, and therefore citizens should carefully verify all details before submission. The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to intensify awareness efforts and ensure maximum participation so that the campaign is conducted successfully.
